UR Downtown Dedication

On Tuesday, March 3, 2009 more than 80 members of the Richmond community, including Virginia's First Lady, Anne Holton, and Richmond's Mayor, Dwight Jones attended the official dedication ceremony of the UR Downtown campus.  UR Downtown houses three programs stemming from the University of Richmond School of Law and the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement:  The Richmond Families Initiative supports the development of healthy and stable families in collaboration with non-profit partners by engaging undergraduate students and faculty through sustained community-based learning courses, research, and service projects.  The Harry L. Carrico Center for Pro Bono Service connects Richmond area attorneys and volunteer University of Richmond School of Law students to provide a range of free legal services to low-income clients.  The Jeanette Lipman Family Law Clinic, a partnership with VCU, provides local families with direct legal, mental health, and social work services.
