Charter Associates

Who are the Charter Associates?

The University of Richmond recognizes those who have helped secure its future by making gifts through their wills and other planned gift arrangements. The University welcomes these alumni, faculty, staff and friends as members of The Charter Associates.

How do I become a member of the Charter Associates?

If you have already made a provision for the University of Richmond in your estate plans, you may become a member by completing this one page notification form.

If you are interested in naming Richmond as a primary or contingent beneficiary of a will, trust, or retirement plan (e.g. IRA, SEP, 401(k), 403(b), ESOP, etc.) Your retirement account's plan administrator (the company that manages the account) can help you designate the University of Richmond as a primary or contingent beneficiary on the plan's beneficiary form. Please see our sample bequest language for details.

Additionally, donors that are interested in a life income gift, such as a charitable gift annuity or a charitable remainder unitrust are eligible to become members of the Charter Associates. A life income gift can provide you and/or your loved ones with an income for the duration of your lives or for a specific number of years. You receive a current income tax dedication as well.
