Advancement Systems

The Office of Advancement Systems helps foster relationships with alumni, parents, faculty, staff, organizations, and other friends of the University of Richmond by supporting the operations of the University's advancement offices, including alumni and career services, development, and university communications.

We seek to provide outstanding service and maintain the highest professional standards with respect to the confidentiality of information and privacy of our constituents, including compliance with legal and professional standards such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, and the Donor Bill of Rights.

The Office of Advancement Systems is comprised of two departments:

Advancement Operations: with responsibility for the processing of all gifts, routine maintenance of gift records and all operational work in UR Online, including electronic email communications and transactions and staff training in using these database communication tools. The department is also responsible for access, security and ongoing use of advancement's major database of record, The Raiser's Edge, ultimately serving our alumni, donors and university staff both within and outside of the division of advancement.

Advancement Data and Analytics: with responsibility for the oversight of biographical data entry (including feeds, integrations, ASADMN submissions and proactive data gathering), data integrity for all constituent records, including the development and maintenance of data standards and definitions for Raiser’s Edge, the fulfillment of requests for information, queries and exports, and all internal and external reporting and analysis for Advancement. The department is also responsible for staff experience and initial and ongoing staff training in the use of The Raiser's Edge, advancement's major database of record.
