Parent Giving at Richmond

Spider parents and families are an integral part of the Richmond web. Their support makes the University a better place for current and future students and the broader campus community.

Spider Parents Give

Parents made a difference in the lives of our students through gifts to the UR Annual Fund, scholarships and financial aid, faculty support, and more.

More than 1,000 parents made a gift during the 2022–23 school year, supporting Spiders with more than $5 million in gifts and commitments.

Spider Parents Make Connections

Parents give of their time and connections, supporting the Career Services team and opening doors professionally for Spiders by:

Hiring students for internships and jobs; connecting us to recruiting professionals at their places of employment; participating in one of our many career exploration programs, including Spider Shadowing; and sharing industry expertise in areas such as staff training and professional development.

Spider Parents Lead

Families who make an annual gift of $10,000 or more are honored as members of the President’s Parent Leadership Council.

Collectively in Fiscal Year 2023, PPLC families:

  • committed to fully funding an endowed faculty chair,
  • established seven endowed scholarships, including one in honor of the Class of 2023,
  • and funded the renovation of the Journalism Department digital media lab.

"We are thrilled with the experience that our son had as a UR undergraduate and enjoyed our involvement as parents and members of the PPLC.

Richmond holds a special place in our hearts, and we look forward to staying connected."
