Highest Needs
If you are ready to make a gift to Richmond and considering where to direct it, please allow us to make some suggestions. There are a number of areas in which the University has a high level of ongoing need, and where your gift can have particular impact. These include annual funds, scholarships, financial aid, the student emergency fund, and more.
Student Scholarships & Aid
At Richmond, we believe in building a community of learners as vibrant and diverse as the world around us. Through their distinct experiences and perspectives, our students bring an invaluable richness to the University. That’s why we award approximately $21 million in donor-funded aid and scholarships annually — to ensure talented and deserving students have access to the opportunities and promise of a Richmond education, regardless of their backgrounds.
Faculty Excellence
Through impactful giving, you allow us to recruit the most talented teacher-scholars to Richmond, retain our existing outstanding faculty members, and invest in innovative pedagogical approaches.
Schools & Programs
A Richmond education is special — the product of a unique and powerful configuration of five schools that integrate and collaborate across disciplinary lines to provide extraordinary academic opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students alike. When you choose to support Richmond, you may direct your gift to the academic school(s) or program(s) that mean the most to you.
Dialogue and Inclusion
The Dialogue and Inclusion Fund provides direct and immediate support for UR’s efforts to foster an equitable, inclusive, and skilled intercultural community.
Athletics
Formerly known as the Spider Club, the Spider Athletic Fund (SAF) is the fundraising arm of Richmond Athletics. The purpose of the Spider Athletic Fund is to provide the financial support our student-athletes need to excel in academics and athletics, while developing champion leaders who will positively impact the world beyond the University of Richmond.
