Competitive Excellence Fund
The Competitive Excellence Fund provides unrestricted resources to support Spider Athletics. Unrestricted funds are crucial to the success of Richmond student-athletes, as it provides the director of athletics flexibility to distribute funds to the greatest areas of need as they arise. The Competitive Excellence Fund can be used to fund team travel, recruiting, and equipment, provide support for unforeseen challenges, and more. If you are passionate about all Spider Athletics programs, the Competitive Excellence Fund is the best place for you to designate your gift.
Sport-Specific Giving
The Spider Athletic Fund offers the option to designate gifts in support of each of our Division I sports. Each program has a discretionary fund that supports daily activities and enhances the student-athlete focused environment that Spider Athletics promotes. Funds are used at the discretion of the head coach and director of athletics.
Special Projects
Special projects go above and beyond the daily expenses of the department and help to differentiate the Richmond student-athlete experience from our peer institutions. Special projects include capital projects, athletic facility enhancements, and athletic endowments to ensure the long-term success of Richmond student-athletes and the future of Spider Athletics.
Spider Performance and Development
The Spider Performance and Development fund helps us provide an unparalleled student-athlete experience at the University by developing champion leaders that positively impact themselves, their teams, and the world. This fund includes gifts to the Spider Leadership Initiative, Mental Health & Wellness, Academic Support, Sports Medicine, and Strength & Conditioning.
